Default Armor and elemental damage

I read that your chest and legs have an higher chance of getting hit out of 8 (0/8). But I was wondering if elemental damage then does damage to ALL pieces? So regardless of where i put a +10 vs elemental it will count for all pieces? Cause I don't get how elemental dmg can hit one pieces of armor if it's not something like fireball.

I am confused D:

Thanks.

All hits hit an armor piece - including Area of Effect ones. Which of course means elemental damage, too.

Of course, any armor boosting insignia will only work if the hit is applied to the specific armor piece the insignia is put on.

If I understand it correctly, attacks have that chance out of 8, whilst spells have an area they always hit, or atleast some do. Im not sure how that works though...

All damage (that is not armor-ignoring) hits you on one specific piece of armor.

Example:
You have +10 armor vs elemental damage on your chest only, nothing on the rest.
You stand in Bed of Coals for 10 seconds.
Then each burst has a 3/8 chance of hitting you on the chest, causing the +10 armor to take effect.

This is just the way the game mechanics work, it has nothing to do with logic (which would be that Bed of Coals would always hit on your feet).

Side Question, Being an Assassin would it just be better to be runed up for +10 whie enchanted, if using a mobeius build?

you do not understand correctly.
Iuris and Dzjudz do, though.

It got me thinking, instead of being runed up for a certain dmg like Ele. Wouldn't it be better to just be armored while enchanted.

depends on how much of the specific damage you expect to take, how much more armor you would get against that specific damage, and how often you expect to be enchanted. do the math and wear whichever will reduce the most damage.

The best choices for an assassin will usually be Blessed or Nightstalker's. In most builds you will be using enchantments (Critical Agility should be on all assassin PvE bars, Strength of Honor, many cheap long lasting sin enchants or refreshing enchants, etc.) and you will be attacking most of the time. Personally, I use Blessed, but it's your pick. I use Blessed because I'm usually h/h'ing, meaning that I run in before my party and take immediate spell damage. In this case Blessed insignia will work, but Nightstalker's will take effect later.

P.S. There is no option for an assassin to specifically protect against elemental damage.
